Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal announced the news on his Twitter account. According to his Twitter tweets, "The NIOS has decided to postpone the class 12 exams in order to ensure the safety and security of our students. Kids will be evaluated based on objective criteria that will be announced soon, and about 1.75 lakh students will profit."

"Learners who are dissatisfied with the alternative evaluation criteria will be given the opportunity to improve their scores through on-demand assessment," according to the official notification.

NIOS had previously announced that its Class 10th exams for 2021 will be cancelled. After the CBSE's major decision to cancel the CBSE class 12th exams on June 1st, the NIOS made the cancellation decision.
